The Engineering Science Division (ESD) of Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is seeking a Principal Program Manager 2 to manage the conduction of RDT&E projects focused on providing solutions to identified airbase technology capability gaps in the areas identified. This position is located onsite at Tyndall AFB, FL.

As a Principal Program Manager 2, you will be responsible for planning, designing, executing, analyzing, and reporting RDT&E and technical activities focused on innovative protective designs and concepts using state-of-the-art materials; and to recommend potential solutions crucial to ensuring the survivability of personnel, infrastructure, and high-value assets against a variety of threats.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Must have experience in preparing and reviewing research proposals, research plans and test plans.

  • Must have experience in writing and reviewing complex scientific and/or engineering technical papers.

  • Must have experience with blast and infrastructure protection research.

  • Must have experience working with/on DoD installations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited university with a PhD in a field of science or engineering relevant to CE M&P or airbase technologies and at least 10 years of RDT&E experience since graduation; or

  • An MS degree in a field of science or engineering relevant to civil engineering or airbase technologies with at least 15 years of RDT&E experience and a proven record of the specific experiences described are acceptable.

  • Secret Security Clearance.

For this position, travel is required 20% of the time.
