Sierra Nevada Corporation Field Service Technician III / A&P - Contingent On Award in Tyndall AFB, Florida

As a Field Service Technician III, you will be using your skills and expertise to perform a variety of maintenance and technical support on our products such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at customer and/or field locations. You'll be responsible for installing, operating, maintaining, repairing, and modifying our products and updating and tracking the status of all field related equipment. You'll build and maintain effective relationships with our customers and provide them with onsite training.

Must-haves:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent, and typically 4 or more years of relevant experience

  • A higher-level degree may substitute for experience

  • Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education

  • Active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant certification with no prior FAA violations

  • Ability to understand and interpret basic technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications

  • Progressive experience using troubleshooting techniques

  • Thorough understanding of electrical wiring concepts

  • Advanced skills in repairing, maintaining and/or troubleshooting aircraft airframes and engines

  • Advanced skills with avionics troubleshooting, wiring, wiring repair, wiring installation, soldering, and crimping techniques

  • Must have own tools in good working order

  • Thorough understanding of electrical wiring concepts

  • Ability to pass a Tier 1 investigation and obtain a Common Access Card (CaC) and line badge required

  • Ability to pass FAA Medical Class 2 Flight Physical

Preferred:

  • Associate's degree in a related field of study

  • Experience with Telemetry Systems

  • FAA repair station and/or Quality Assurance experience

  • Able to travel on a regular basis and/or work different shifts including overtime and weekends

  • Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFARS)

  • Experience with FCC or FCC GROL

  • Prior experience with Security+, Network+, CCNA and/or A+ Basic understanding of Spectrometer, Oscilloscope and/or Pilot Static Equipment gauges

  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
