Job Description

Location: Twinsburg

The Project/Design Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for ensuring project integrity and compliance with Safran quality rules and commitments.

This role will assist members of the Program/Design/Industrialisation team in the achievement of project quality, customer satisfaction and quality improvement targets, helping to make design processes more robust.

The incumbent will be the main interface of the customer for quality topics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•Project Quality Assurance Engineer will act as the subject matter expert for quality tools and techniques applied in operations.

•Prepares and implements the quality plan in line with SAFRAN referential and customer requirements, and provides support on other Program/Project plans.

•Guarantees the proper application of Safran rules and customers' requirements, and ensures compliance with regulatory, ISO9001 and AS9100 requirements

•Project/Design Quality Assurance Engineer will interface directly with the customer and regulatory authorities.

•Contributes to the preparation and represents quality at project/program gate reviews.

•Drives mitigation plans in order to prevent/mitigate risks, establishes and drives corrective and preventive action plans in order to support the improvement of project/program performance, facilitates and supports root cause analysis & practical problem solving activities …

•Assists Design Engineering teams as the Design Quality Engineer focal point

•Contributes to Project/Program Maturity assessment and enhancement

•Provides support to Supplier Quality Assurance regarding selection and monitoring of the design contractors and parts suppliers quality

•Ensures the quality of Design and Industrial Validation

•Ensures that the processes are correctly carried out: Configuration and Change Management processes

•This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

•Office environment with moderate noise levels.

•Occasional need to be on shop floor, requiring safety glasses, safety shoes, and ability to stand for long periods.

Job Requirements

Education and/or Experience:

•Associates Degree in a related field preferred.

•Possess a minimum of 5 years' experience in design quality role preferred in an aerospace company or an automotive company.

•Proven customer management experience, effective customer communications, and ability to appropriately address customer issues, influence and align with wider business requirements.

•Solid understanding of contractual and regulatory requirements including ISO9001 and AS9100.

•Proven technical experience of Engineering, Industrialization, manufacturing and quality processes.

•Lead auditor trained preferred.

•Ability to lead quality investigations, compile appropriate reports, and coach others.

•Effective written and verbal communication skills across all levels of the organization.

•APQP, PDCA, DMAIC and other related tools knowledge.

•Configuration and data management.

•Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

•Good leadership, initiative and execution.

•Ability to convince, accept responsibility, adaptability-flexibility.

•Ideally, experience with ARP-4754A and/or DO-178 and/or DO-254 standards.
