Description
Job Summary
Primary responsibilities include fitting and welding precision assemblies in carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum with a focus on quality and safety.
Essential Job Functions
Fit and weld assemblies in carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum according to Roxtec standards using GMAW and GTAW processes.
Grinding of welds per drawing, shop order or instructions as required.
Cut, prepare, and assemble material as required.
Break sharp edges of finished assemblies by grinding or other means.
Complete assigned shop orders in a timely manner reporting exact time and material used for each operation.
Coordinate with other operators in the Fabrication Shop to complete shop orders.
Performing visual quality inspections & documentation according to Roxtec standards.
Notify the responsible welder or foreman of defects seen during course of work.
Use proper PPE as directed by the Fabrication Shop Supervisor and as required based on the task.
Maintain a safe and organized work area following proper safety practices.
Other welder and fabrication duties as required.

Requirements
English communication ability both verbal and written.
Excellent mechanical aptitude required.
Ability to read and understand mechanical (CAD) drawings.
Ability to use basic measuring & inspection tools such as: measuring tape, square, calipers, go / no go gauges & radius gauges.
Must have a strong focus on safety and quality.
Good organizational, problem solving and follow-through skills are a plus.
Ability to work with minimal supervision on assigned tasks.
The successful candidate will have 90 days after their initial hire date to pass the required welder qualification test according to Roxtec International standards. If this requirement is not met within 90 days of the hire date, employment will be terminated with Roxtec Inc.
Education and Experience
Completion of high school or equivalent
Minimum 3 years welding & fitting experience or formal welder & fitting training from an accredited school
Physical Requirements

Close visual acuity with or without corrective lenses
