The Warehouse Supervisor is a hands-on role that performs and leads warehouse operations, including supervising staff, focusing on increasing accuracy and production levels while maintaining a safe work environment.
Monitor operations and staff and recommends changes in methods, procedure, structure, and staffing to optimize utilization of resources.
Sort, separate and move material within the warehouse.
Monitor department work productivity. Report trends and recommend/implement changes to continually improve productivity.
Select, train, develop and motivate an effective and efficient staff. Counsel employees on educational and job opportunities which will enhance their career development.
Establish and communicate performance standards and objectives to staff.
Conduct periodic meetings to keep staff informed of current problems, changes, new developments in the department and company.
Monitor and ensure that employees are performing their functions safely and productively. Make recommendations for improvements to prevent accidents and injuries.
Provide regular performance feedback to team members. Provide additional training/coaching to those not meeting performance standards.
Foster an environment of open communication and inclusion among team members.
Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management.
Basic Requirements:
High school diploma or GED
2+ years of experience in warehouse operations
Preferred Requirements:
1+ year(s) in a supervisory or team lead role
Experience working with hazardous materials
40-hour Hazwoper certification
Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Share Point)
Highly developed communication skills in English, both speaking and listening, with the ability to present information in a clear, concise, organized and diplomatic manner.
Ability to work effectively across functions and with different levels of the organization
Ability to assign tasks and provide decision-making considering staff knowledge, experience, skills, and workload
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Willingness and ability to wear company-issued personal protection equipment including eye protection, hard hat, gloves, foot protection, Tyvek suit, and respirator.
Ability to repeatedly lift and carry 50 pound containers throughout the work day.
Ability to push hand truck with loads of up to 500 pounds.
