Job Summary:

JOB SUMMARY

Provides prescribed medications and consultations as needed for safe and effective patient care according to professional standards of practice. Serves as a resource for information concerning medications to all of our customers, not limited to but including, associates in other departments, patients, families, physicians, and the communities we serve.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Reviews, prepares, and dispenses medications according to accepted standards of practice.

• Actively participates in all clinical activities within the department and/or facility to include, but not be limited to: (1) Patient and/or staff education regarding medication(s) (2) Documented interventions within the real time clinical surveillance system as deemed appropriate

• Effectively manages departmental resources.

• Provides quality, patient-specific drug information and recommendations to health care workers and patients.

• Establishes measurable yearly goals and objectives.
