Centerless Grinder
Job Description
We are an aerospace company seeking a skilled machinist to join our team in our machine and grind shop. We are looking for an experienced individual with precision capabilities, the ability to read blueprints, experience with various types of machining equipment, high attention to detail, and excellent communication and team-building skills. The ideal candidate will maintain high levels of safety, health, environmental, quality, and productivity standards and possess a strong understanding of machining operations. We seek a dedicated and driven individual to support day-to-day business needs and pursue company goals.
Responsibilities
Extensive reading of blueprints and holding dimensions and tolerances as specified.
Understanding of machining and grinding various hardened tool steels and epoxy resins.
Setup and operate conventional and CNC precision grinding equipment.
Setup and operate conventional machining equipment to manufacture parts to print specification.
Mount and indicate parts less than .001” TIR.
Reading and operation of surface roughness tester.
Cylindrical and Internal Grinding of hardened tool steels and epoxy resins within tolerance of .0002”/.0005”.
Perform centerless grinding to achieve round surface tolerance with high-quality surface finish and dimensional accuracy.

Handling tiny shafts (3"-15" in length in diameter)

High attention to detail
Great communication and team-building skills
Strong understanding of machining operations
Ability to work under tight tolerances

Work Environment
The work environment is an aerospace machine shop with shifts available Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 3:30 PM and 3:30 PM to 12 AM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tukwila, Washington.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $50.00/hr.
