Job Purpose: To diagnose and repair construction equipment, both in a field and shop environment while sharing technical knowledge and providing guidance and direction to other technicians.
Roles, Duties, & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the repair and maintenance of equipment fleet.
Uses technical knowledge, skills, and data to diagnose, repair and maintain company equipment.
Purchases and/or coordinates the purchase of parts and supplies for equipment repairs as determined by need. Expenditures beyond normal running repairs are first to be discussed with the shop service manager for approval. In his or her absence, items are to be discussed with the Equipment Manager.
Coordinates the outsourcing of equipment repairs as determined by need. Obtains approval from shop service manager prior to execution, and must get approval for expenditures. In his or her absence, items are to be discussed with the Equipment Manager.
Responsible for communicating equipment damages to the shop service manager.
Travels to various sites to repair necessary equipment.
Performs equipment inspections and schedules repairs of equipment with job site superintendent and / or foreman.
Adheres to all Hunter Contracting Co. safety policies, procedures, and instructions from management.
Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
Possesses a State issued drivers license with clean record.
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Must have the ability to read and understand service manuals.
Owns their own tools to perform the necessary repairs with the exception of specialized tools required for a specific repair.
Works in dusty and/or dirty surroundings and practices good safety habits.
Communicates effectively and maintains good problem resolution.
Follows instructions and makes decisions based on verifiable standards.
Demonstrates attentive and active listening skills and learns quickly on the job.
Approaches work in a meticulous, thorough, and detailed manner.
Prioritizes work to meet goals or deadlines.
Minimum of ten (10) years of experience, enough experience to accumulate own tools, in related field, OR,
Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
