Job Title: Welder
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled TIG welder to join our final assembly department. You will report directly to the Welding Supervisor and Plant Manager, and collaborate with a team of 10 welders. Your primary responsibility will be to fabricate parts together using TIG welding techniques, with occasional MIG welding. You will also use hand tools to finish rough edges on stainless steel or aluminum parts, read blueprints, and operate various machinery such as tube benders, drill presses, and saws.
Responsibilities
Perform TIG welding, primarily on horizontal welds, with occasional welding in multiple positions.
Support all TIG welding and final assembly of products.
Perform 95% TIG welding and 5% MIG welding.
Use hand tools like angle grinders and sanders to finish rough edges on newly stamped or formed stainless steel or aluminum.
Operate tube benders, drill presses, and saws to create necessary parts.
Read and interpret blueprints for client-specific short run production.
Ensure strong attention to detail and the ability to work quickly and efficiently.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 3 years of TIG stainless steel welding experience.
Ability to weld on stainless steel 14 gauge (very thin).
Minimum of 3 years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints, including blueprint symbols and tolerances.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Fabrication and assembly experience.
Experience with machine shop tools (lathe, Bridgeport, saw, grinders, etc.).
Pipefitting experience.
MIG welding experience.
Candidates currently attending school for an Associate's in Welding Technologies may be considered if they can demonstrate their abilities during a weld test.

Work Environment
Our company specializes in manufacturing and assembly of pathology, histology, necropsy, and morgue equipment. We maintain a clean work environment with a total of 84 employees, including 10 welders in the welding group. The dress code includes working attire, welding helmet, welding gloves, and steel toe boots. The facility is divided into multiple areas for work in process, including Engineering, Machining, Welding, Metal Finishing, and Shipping/Receiving. We design and deliver finished products all under one roof.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Madison Heights, Michigan.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
