Roles and Responsibilities
An ETL Data Architect with Snowflake designs, builds, and optimizes data pipelines within the Snowflake platform, ensuring data quality, security, and accessibility. They collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions, develop data models, and write SQL queries to extract, transform, and load data efficiently. The role also involves performance tuning, data governance, and mentoring junior team members.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Implement Data Pipelines:
Develop and optimize ETL processes using Snowflake, including data modeling, mapping, and transformation logic.
SQL Development:
Write complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading, ensuring efficiency and performance.
Data Governance and Security:
Implement and enforce data governance policies, ensuring data quality, security, and compliance.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements, providing clear documentation and communication.
Performance Tuning and Optimization:
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks within the Snowflake data environment, ensuring optimal data flow and accessibility.
Mentoring and Guidance:
Guide and mentor junior team members on data architecture best practices, coding standards, and Snowflake capabilities.

The annual salary for this position is between $[125,000 – 135,000] depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
