Sr. Accounting Manager
Responsibilities
Manage and optimize services provided by third-party providers to ensure performance, collaboration with internal teams, and alignment with the vision and governance.
Lead and mentor accounting professionals, providing performance feedback, professional development guidance, and daily supervision.
Prepare and review financial statements ensuring timely and accurate reporting in compliance with GAAP or IFRS.
Manage the month-end close process including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
Assist in the development of the annual budget and monthly forecasts; monitor financial performance and report on variances.
Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with corporate policies.
Lead preparation for external audits, liaise with auditors, and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
Manage a global accounting capability with effective leverage of a shared service model.
Identify and implement process improvements.
Develop effective relationships with Treasury and Tax capabilities.
Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations to ensure compliance with relevant laws.
Essential Skills
Strong knowledge of GAAP and audit experience.
Team leadership and supervisory experience.
Experience with BPO providers specific to accounting functions.
Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel.
Minimum of 2 years experience in Big Four accounting firms preferred.
5-7 years of experience in accounting or financial management roles.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Qualifications
Strong understanding of consolidated financial reporting and auditing processes.
CPA or SMA designation.
Experience in the automotive industry or plant operations.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance issues.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $150000.00 - $160000.00/yr.
Working on - will have internal benefits, just not sure what they look like yet. Standard vacation is two weeks but is negotiable.

This is a fully onsite position in Troy,MI.
