Henry Ford Health System Senior Clinical Application Analyst (Hybrid - Troy, MI) - Populance in Troy, Michigan

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Senior Clinical Application Analyst serves as a subject matter expert in one or more applications’ capabilities and features with a strong ability to relate clinical workflows to system functionalities.

This role is responsible for formulating and defining systems scope and objectives, developing requirements analysis, use case reviews, fit/gap analyses, and business process re-engineering to solve complex problems within application limitations and desired operational results. You will communicate solutions, issues, and risks directly with organizational leaders or other responsible entities to ensure a fully integrated solution across multiple work streams. The Analyst supports IT in critical design reviews with customers and guides less-experienced team members. The Senior Clinical Application Analyst is part of the Clinical Success Operations Analytics Team that is accountable for analytics, application support, and new projects for the Clinical Success team within Populance.

The ideal candidate will have a clinical background with significant experience using analytical skills to seek out, research, and evaluate a variety of options to provide clients with high-quality, efficient business processes and solutions that promote efficiency and standardization. Must demonstrate the ability to mediate and bridge the relationship between technical, clinical, and business stakeholders without compromising the solution users' needs and the organization's clinical strategic goals.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Subject matter expert (SME) in one or more applications’ capabilities and features for users, owners, and administrators of solutions with the ability to relate clinical workflows.

  • Mediate and bridge the relationship between technical and business stakeholders without compromising the solution users' needs and the organization's strategic goals.

  • Communicate solutions, issues, and risks directly with technical management or other responsible entities to ensure a fully integrated solution across multiple work streams.

  • Act as a super user for IT projects, assisting with problem tickets and support for other team members. Provides support and escalation response to production problem issues/errors while managing all related ITRs. Performs root cause analysis to assist with application resolution.

  • Utilize analytical skills to research and evaluate options to provide clients with high-quality, efficient business processes and solutions that promote efficiency and standardization.

  • Keeps abreast of new Tools & Technology and functionalities across the application(s); utilizes clinical expertise to identify opportunities to integrate new findings into current workflows.

  • Plans, designs, and recommends business processes to improve and support business activities.

  • Assists with developing the methods and procedures required to identify whether current business goals and objectives meet organizational needs.

  • Facilitates meetings with clinical operational stakeholders to gather and document requirements and explore potential solutions.

  • Analyzes and documents client's business requirements and processes and communicates these requirements by constructing conceptual data and process models, including data dictionaries and volume estimates from the organization.

  • Collaborates with work teams, departments, system leadership, staff, IT, and technology vendors to define needs and facilitate solutions.

  • Provides input into developing and modifying systems to meet client needs and develops business specifications to support these modifications.

  • Assists in analyzing testing results throughout the project.

  • Liaison between IT support and business operations teams.

  • Occasionally trains end users.

  • Assignment of work and development of less experienced team members.

  • Ensure proper documentation and on-time delivery of all functional artifacts and deliverables.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Advanced degree preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related professional field (i.e., social work, counseling, health education, etc.) or a Master’s degree of Social Work.

  • Seven (7) years of applicable work experience within healthcare-related setting required.

  • Experience/exposure to the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK), certification preferred.

  • Experience documenting business requirements preferred.

  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.

  • Proven ability to work independently and as a team member.

  • Ability to be flexible and work analytically in a problem-solving environment.

  • Good organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills.

  • Experience in application support preferred.

  • Experience/exposure to Epic, CarePort, and other clinical-driven applications preferred.
