SUMMARY
The Champion Home Builders Legal and Licensing Coordinator role assists the Licensing Paralegal in all aspects of obtaining, renewing, and maintaining operational licenses nationally for the Company and its affiliates. You will also support the Legal Department more broadly with tasks related to matter and contract management, corporate governance, and reporting. This position is hybrid out of our Troy, Michigan headquarters and has flexible scheduling.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Applies for, renews, maintains, and distributes operational licensing nationwide for manufactured housing and associated sales personnel and maintains licensing database and internal tracking methods relating to same, including:
Manage and track the company's business license renewals in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
Prepare and file necessary paperwork for the application, renewal, and amendment of business licenses
Support obtaining and renewing professional licenses for team members
Communicate with professional boards and regulatory bodies to ensure the company meets all licensure obligations
Updates, Tracking and Reporting:
Opening, reviewing, and distributing incoming mail, and forwarding necessary licenses
Coordinate with licensed locations as needed for Monthly and Quarterly required reporting to states, including any reminders, deficiencies, or related penalties
Assist with tracking foreign qualifications, d/b/a, corporate governmental and annual report filings, internally or with a vendor, and handle associated record keeping, invoicing and payments
Manage consumer complaints relating to licensing
Assists in preparing presentations, reports, and documents, as needed
Manage and execute special projects when assigned from initiation to completion
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Possess a paralegal certificate and/or 3-5 years of experience in-house with licensing. Preference given for experience with matter management and/or contract support.
Ability to anticipate needs, problem solve for challenges, and manage emerging issues proactively
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities
Ideal candidates will have experience with Avalara and/or Legal Tracker (formerly Serengeti
