The Defense Software Engineer II will implement, execute, develop, and test software architecture. The selected candidate will provide software configuration updates, troubleshooting, and testing. The selected candidate will work under minimal supervision and receive a moderate level of guidance and direction to write code, script, and documentation for vehicle systems integration using knowledge of Application Programming Interface (API), coding languages, and layers of software development while continuing to further build their knowledge of the organization, processes, and customers. The selected candidate may provide informal guidance to colleagues with less experience.  As a Defense Software Engineer II you will:

  • Develop and execute in-vehicle software architecture with the team
  • Document and test software integration solutions
  • Evaluate and recommend software technology and language

To be considered for a Defense Software Engineer II, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant software experience
  • U.S Citizenship allowing for International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) compliance 
  • Experience with In-Vehicle Software architecture and design
  • Experience with software languages, technologies, methodologies, API's, database, and Pub/Sub
  • Strong working knowledge of software technology architecture and configuration
  • Working knowledge of multi-system integration, Internet of Things (IOT), web app development, and distributed systems integration
  • Working knowledge of best practices in documentation of software and software development
  • Ability to develop in C, C++, Python

A successful candidate may also have:

  • Master's degree in computer science or a related technical field
  • Extensive experience with Agile process methodologies
  • Experience developing and writing requirements definitions
  • Experience in software development, configuration, and testing
  • Experience with the engineering and integration of military ground vehicle electronics systems and subsystems
  • Working knowledge of Vetronics systems and application
  • Strong understanding of business processes: creation, refinement, and gap analyses
  • Proven ability to interface with software, network, and hardware development & integration teams
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to quickly assimilate and apply new concepts, business models, and technologies
  • Ability to develop in QT
