We are looking for a data engineer that joins the Digital Hub (ninja) team and who shares our passion for helping make Siemens Mobility Spain and the South-West Europe Region a more efficient and digitalized company. The Ninja Digital Hub is a space to innovate where self-initiative can thrive. The goal is to push internal digital transformation, enhance efficiency and provide proper tools and information to the strategic decision-making processes at the company. The Digital Hub main activities are focused on starting or set efficiency in motion, build up a community and support on becoming a data-driven company.

As a Data Automation Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between data engineering, automation, and low-code application development to solve diverse organizational challenges. Your primary responsibility will be designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and infrastructure while also leveraging low-code platforms to create user-friendly applications that automate manual processes and address business needs.

What will you do?

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure to ensure efficient extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from various sources.

• Utilize low-code development platforms such as Mendix and PowerApps to build user-friendly applications that address specific business use-cases and enable self-service data access.

• Implement automation solutions to streamline repetitive tasks, optimize data processing workflows, and improve operational efficiency across the organization, primarily leveraging Office 365 applications with Power Automate.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions that leverage data and automation.

• Support data governance activities by ensuring data quality, security, and compliance standards are maintained throughout the development process.

• Provide technical support and training to end-users to facilitate adoption and utilization of automated solutions and applications.

• Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering, automation, and low-code development, and incorporate them into the organization's practices.

What qualifications do you need?

• 2+ years of professional experience in data fields.

• Degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, engineering, or a comparable field.

• Knowledge of data engineering concepts and best practices.

• Experience building data pipelines in production and the ability to work across structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data, as well as experience preparing data for analytics and following a data science workflow.

• Experience in creating and designing ETL/ELT chains (in Snaplogic or similar).

• Experience in data modeling on Snowflake, AWS, SQL Server, SAP HANA, or other data warehouse solutions.

• Experience in preparing data for analytics and following a data science workflow.

• Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets.

• Professional experience with reporting systems, data pipeline architecture, data modeling, and automation.

• Office 365 Power Platform knowledge (Power BI, PowerApps, Power Automate…).

• Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management.

• Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.

• Knowledge of low-code applications development such as Mendix or PowerApps.

• User Experience knowledge/orientation.

• Knowledge of VBA language.

• Desirable knowledge of SAP software.
