Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Development Engineer (IC4) to join our Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Gen-AI Solutions team. In this dynamic role, you will be focused on working with applied scientists and product managers in designing, developing and delivering Gen-AI solutions for our customers and system integrators. Your work will significantly impact key business applications across various domains, including healthcare, code generation, and business document processing. This position offers the unique opportunity to work at the forefront of AI technology, contributing to groundbreaking projects that combine the latest advancements in machine learning with Oracle's cutting-edge cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

As a Software Development Engineer in our Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Gen AI Solutions team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of AI applications and the adoption of these services/applications by enterprise customers.. You will be at the heart of a team that pushes the boundaries of innovation, working on cutting-edge large language model technologies and use cases which have a significant impact on enterprises . Your expertise will drive the development of solutions that have a profound impact on various sectors, including healthcare, finance and HRMS. In this role, you will:

  • Design, develop, and maintain large language models (LLMs) tailored for specific applications, ensuring they meet the high standards required for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

  • Work closely with OCI SI Partners in delivering solutions based on OCI Services (including AI Services).

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate these models into our cloud infrastructure, focusing on scalability, performance, and reliability.

  • Conduct rigorous testing and validation processes to ensure the models' accuracy and efficiency in real-world scenarios.

  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI and machine learning, applying innovative techniques and methodologies to continually enhance our systems.

  • Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior team members, nurturing a culture of innovation and technical excellence within the team.

  • Engage with product managers and stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into robust technical solutions.

  • Manage the full lifecycle of LLM projects, from conception through deployment and ongoing maintenance, ensuring they align with our strategic objectives and deliver maximum value.

This role demands a candidate who is not only technically proficient but also a collaborative team player, able to lead and inspire, and driven to make a significant impact in the field of AI and cloud computing.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in software development, with a significant focus on AI and machine learning applications.

  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.

  • Extensive knowledge of large language models and natural language processing techniques.

  • Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure or similar cloud platforms.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on complex projects.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a proven track record of working effectively in cross-functional teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality software products within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range: from $94,200 to $223,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

  8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

  10. Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
