The Software Development Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing the a team of full stack developers. The Development Manager is responsible for the design, development and delivery of applications, coordinating with various stakeholders, mentoring team members, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions. The Software Development Manager plays a crucial role in driving innovation, enhancing productivity, and maintaining efficient development processes.

Essential Job Functions

  • Design, develop, document, test and debug new and existing software systems, applications and/or components for market sale or proprietary software

  • Oversee the strategic planning, execution, and successful delivery of software development projects, including defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables, managing project timelines, resources, and budgets, and ensuring adherence to software development methodologies and best practices

  • Design, develop, document, test and debug new and existing software systems, applications and/or components for market sale or proprietary software

  • Serve as lead and technical expert on development projects, participate in full development life cycle including requirements analysis, design, and deployment

  • Responsible for following the team’s established Agile processes which include supporting both short- and long-term planning, cross-functional support, and demonstrating working software

  • Evaluates new platforms, technologies, and software products/techniques to determine feasibility and desirability of incorporating their capabilities within the company's products

  • Make design decisions which encourage leveragability, potential reuse, componentization, extensibility, maintainability, and are minimally coupled

  • Provide solutions and alternatives to impasses impacting timetables, scalability, and performance factors as they pertain to production, implementation and to technologies advancements for SitusAMC

  • Act as escalation point for Software Development team

  • Continuously monitor and stay informed about the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to ensure the team remains at the forefront of innovation

  • adherence to software development methodologies and best practices

  • Other tasks as assigned by manager

Team Leadership

  • Provide strategic leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities to a team of software developers

  • Cultivate a collaborative and inclusive team environment that encourages innovation and teamwork

  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and offer constructive feedback to enhance team members' skills and productivity

  • Promote professional growth and career development by facilitating training and advancement opportunities for team members

Qualifications/ Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering, information systems preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Minimum of 12+ years of industry and/or relevant experience, typically with 2+ years in a VP level role or external equivalent

  • 5+ years as a hands on leader managing distributed teams

  • Working knowledge of multiple languages, software development environment, and software development life-cycle procedures including but not limited to: C#,.Net, .Net Core, Java, Python, JavaScript frameworks (Angular, VUE, React)

  • Working experience with Software development frameworks, API Integrations, , Structured and unstructured databases

  • Experience developing cloud-native apps or migrating apps to the cloud, preferably AWS.

  • Experience with AWS Technologies (API Gateway, Lambda, EKS, AWS Transfer family), Event-driven Architecture, and Kubernetes is also required

  • Solid foundation in enterprise software architecture: APIs, databases, DevOps, IaC (e.g., Terraform), and observability (e.g., Datadog, OpenTelemetry)

  • Experience using Azure DevOps, Jira, Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket, or similar tools

  • Experience working in Agile Scrum and DevOps aligned delivery teams

  • Demonstrate a proactive approach and decisiveness in dynamic and fast-paced environments

  • Ability and interest to learn other coding languages, frameworks or tooling as required by evolving business needs

  • Adaptable to every changing environment and changes approach or method to best fit the situation

  • Excellent communication skills written and verbal

  • Excellent communication skills and a bias toward action in fast-paced environments.

Additional Qualification

  • Experience with generative AI technologies and frameworks.

  • Ability to design, develop, and implement AI models and algorithms.

  • Deep expertise in: Language models (LLMs), embeddings, and prompt engineering; Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and vector-based search; model validation and confidence scoring for non-deterministic systems

  • Strong experience with AWS Bedrock, SageMaker, Python, and modern ML/AI stacks.

  • Familiarity with AWS-native services for AI/ML workflows and security compliance frameworks is required.

The annual full time base salary range for this role is

$160,000.00 - $180,000.00

Specific compensation is determined through interviews and a review of relevant education, experience, training, skills, geographic location and alignment with market data. Additionally, certain positions may be eligible to receive a discretionary bonus as determined by bonus program guidelines, position eligibility and SitusAMC Senior Management approval. SitusAMC offers PTO and paid holidays, the terms of which are set forth in the program policies. All full time employees also are eligible to participate in various benefit plans, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability insurance and 401K; in each case in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
