County of Jones Paramedic in Trenton, North Carolina

Jones County Emergency Medical Services is looking to full the Paramedic Position.

Job Duties:

The Paramedic will provide emergency medical care and Advanced Life Support to residents and visitors of the County. They shall also be responsible to:

  • Assist in maintaining vehicles and equipment in state of readiness.
  • Determine extentof illness or injury and establish priorities for required care; transmit vital information and telemetry data to receiving medical care facility.
  • Provide various treatment techniques including, but not limited to: airway management, intravenous therapy, drug administration, cardiac monitoring, defibrillation and electrocardiogram interpretation. Complete and file all required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Assist in performing inspections of vehicles, equipment, and cleaning of station, grounds, and other duties assigned by the EMS Director.
  • Participate in continuing education actives and maintain certification.
  • All work is performed under limited supervision of the EMS Director.

Position Qualifications: Thorough knowledge of the principles of anatomy and physiology; thorough knowledge of the principles and techniques of emergency medical care, including diagnosis, proper treatment and transportation; thorough knowledge of equipment and supplies used in the emergency care of patients and victim's of accidents; thorough knowledge of the streets and road system and physical layout of the County; skill in diagnosing a victim's condition and applying emergency medical care; ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; ability to keep records and prepare reports; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, associates, patients and their families, other emergency service agencies and the general public. Must hold a valid unrestricted North Carolina driver's license.
