Munson Medical Center’s Family Birth Center houses the 19-bed Maternity Unit, the 22-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) (https://www.munsonhealthcare.org/services/pediatric-care/nicu/neonatal-intensive-care) , and the Healthy Futures (https://healthyfuturesonline.org/) program.

The Family Birth Center (https://youtu.be/PgaKSKWUcx4) features spacious, private birthing rooms where you and your baby will spend your stay in the hospital. Your room is fully equipped with the technical equipment needed to support your birth experience. Each room is large enough to allow your family to spend time with you and your baby and practice new parenting skills with the help of specially trained nurses. To support family learning and bonding, sleeping arrangements in the room can be made for one additional adult.

REQUIREMENTS

• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan.

• For those hired into an RN position prior to January 1, 2009, it is encouraged to obtain a BSN. Certification in the specialty area of practice is also encouraged.

• For those hired into an RN position after January 1st, 2009, it is required to obtain a BSN within 10 years of start date.

• For those hired into an RN position after January 1st, 2015, it is required to obtain a BSN within 5 years of start date.

• Experience in the clinical area in which application has been made is desirable.

• Is a self-directed professional with the ability to make independent judgments directing patient care.

• Demonstrates ability in using the computer with Windows format preferred.
