Robert Half Accounts Receivable Clerk in Torrance, California
Description We are seeking an Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team in the automotive industry based in Torrance, California. The selected candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to customer credit processing and accounts receivable, as well as other accounting functions. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Process accounts receivable, including credit and debit memos, and perform other related tasks
• Handle cash applications
• Verify customer credit status
• Follow-up and collection of past due accounts receivable
• Process and reconcile inventory adjustments
• Assist with month-end closing activities
• Post journal entries
• Reconcile the general ledger
• File accounting documents
• Participate in improvement (kaizen) activities
• Assist with accounting functions of subsidiary entities, including monthly closing activities
• Prepare, analyze, and distribute accounting related reports
• Perform other accounting and business support tasks as assigned Requirements • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation
• Experience in Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Familiarity with Billing processes
• Knowledge of Cash Applications
• Experience in Cash Collections
• Understanding of Commercial Collections
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with Oracle software
• Familiarity with QuickBooks software
• Knowledge of SAP software
• Previous experience in an automotive industry is preferred
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask
• Ability to handle confidential information
• Strong problem-solving skills
