Structural Designer, Mid Level - (REMOTE)

Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities

POWER Engineers Canada is currently seeking a Full time Structural Designer to work in the Power Delivery PECan transmission line group out of our Toronto, Canada office. The successful candidate will report to the Department Manager and will have the opportunity to work in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and assist with lattice steel structure drafting, design, and detailing.

  • Learn, understand, and implement CAD knowledge; learning client standards, practices, and procedures to ensure that work produced conforms to the client's standards and expectations; being responsible for knowing and following POWER's standards, procedures, and processes; collaborating on design issues.

  • Promote company culture and manage internal and external relationships.

  • Facilitate development of staff with intentional assignments to prepare the next generation of leaders.

  • Collaboratively work with the TDS and structural teams.

Required Education/Experience

  • Associates degree in drafting or equivalent technical degree.

  • Minimum of 10 years’ professional experience in the industry.

  • Minimum 8+ years’ experience in steel detailing.

  • Significant experience in drafting with AutoCAD.

Desired Education/Experience

  • Experience of drafting with Bocad or Tekla in an engineering work environment.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word and Excel).

  • Experience with Bentley ProjectWise.

  • Experience working with scaled drawings.
