The Pricing Team supports all business lines within Scotia Wealth Management and security operations by maintaining prices on pricing platforms. The Senior Pricing Analyst will focus on house pricing tasks and assist with support activities for the centralized security master platform.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
Ensure house prices on different platforms are updated accurately based on approved pricing sources
Process house prices updates and regularly to ensure a correct price on client statements
Research pricing sources for price requests based on available information
Analyze and identify a proper price among different pricing sources
Consider all factors (dirty/clean price, market exchange, etc.) and identify a correct price to use in the pricing platforms
Investigate price discrepancies through the interaction with operations, business users and data vendors
Investigate and communicate with different teams to find out where discrepancies come from and come up with a solution
Maintain internal control reports to capture price variances in the pricing platforms
Maintain reports to identify and correct these variances.
Ensure backups for all pricing tasks are properly recorded for audit purposes
Be responsible for keeping all necessary documents required to support the activities done on the platforms.
Review, update, and document procedures
Review current processes periodically and keep current and come up with new procedures or control reports as well as the documentation of these processes
Support activities for the centralized security master platform
Assist on supporting activities in the Data Control and Book Cost team when available
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:
A University Degree or College Diploma or equivalent
Completed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or working towards the CSC is an asset
Experience in the financial services industry
A solid understanding of financial instruments and assets classes including fixed income, equities, derivatives, corporate actions, terms & conditions, reference data and security identifiers (including cross referencing and linking of Issuers and Issues)
Experience researching and evaluating securities using information from exchanges, pricing vendors and other financial sources for wide range of security types is beneficial
Experience working with and acting on pricing reports, including stale, threshold and null reports as well as validating price discrepancies for various financial assets is an asset
Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge preferred to effectively analyze data, develop reports, and create templates for pricing tasks.
Strong interpersonal, communication & listening skills
