What you'll be doing
As a member of Business Banking team, you’ll work under the direction of the Associate Vice President, National Office, Business Banking, the Senior Director, Business Effectiveness is responsible for supporting the Business Banking National Office activities with direct accountability for the BB product experience team, the BB governance and controls function, the BB Sales & Service analytics function, the BB Digital Strategy group, all BB coordination activities with internal partners and stakeholders and supporting the AVP, National Office with all BB related matters, as assigned.
The role provides leadership in the planning, coordination, assessment, development and implementation of key internal initiatives in support of the business. This individual will act as the internal representative of the AVP and SVP and possess the highest level of integrity, with proven experience communicating across diverse audiences and is well equipped to provide counsel to senior executives. The role involves significant cross-functional responsibilities, including but not limited to coordination and collaboration with several internal stakeholders and external stakeholders.
You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.
How you'll succeed
Leadership – Expert coaching, relationship building and leadership skills comfortable leading effective teams in a cross-functional and development environment at a senior level of a financial services organization.
Change & Innovation – Ability to act as a change agent for Business Banking through innovative and creative thinking, leading change required to optimize effectiveness and achieve stated objectives.
Industry Expertise – Demonstrate credibility within selected industry verticals both internal and external to CIBC. Be knowledgeable of the industry and keep abreast of changes including potential impact to clients and our portfolio. Knowledgeable about competitor offerings in a variety of industry segments.
Collaboration – Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with external and internal stakeholders, Personal Banking, Imperial Service, Risk Management, Infrastructure teams and Commercial Banking to facilitate business growth and manage risk.
Risk Management – Proven track record at managing risk in a growth environment, with subject matter expertise in constructing industry initiatives that maintain credit quality and adhere to risk appetite as established by the enterprise.
Ability to work independently - often taking initiative to proactively address emerging issues and capitalize on key opportunities before receiving task-oriented instructions to do so.
Ability to apply - thought leadership and complex concepts to effectively contribute to the continuous refinement of strategic objectives.
