Canadian Tire Development Chapter Manager in Toronto, Ontario

What you'll do

We are currently looking for a results-driven, customer-centric leader who can champion the development of the Legacy Modernization Delivery group. As a strong leader, you will be responsible for managing and growing our team to achieve our organizational goals. You will be expected to create a culture of trust, respect, and open communication, where team members feel empowered to take ownership and drive their growth.   • Define and implement software delivery strategies and standards to support legacy modernization initiatives

  • Validate solutions are in compliance with our enterprise standards

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams, ensuring the development of high-quality solutions

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and design modernization roadmaps and execute plans to deliver them

  • Develop and maintain SDLC artifacts, including design patterns, solution blueprints, user stories, test reports, etc

  • Drive the adoption of modern technology stacks and practices, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives

  • Lead the evaluation and selection of tools and technologies to support modernization initiatives

  • Identify and manage technical risks and issues, working closely with project teams to resolve them

  • Build and mentor a high-performing development team, providing guidance and support to help team members grow and develop in their roles

  • Work closely with various IT VP's and AVPs across IT to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives

  • Manage stakeholders, building and maintaining strong relationships to ensure successful project delivery

  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, ensuring that SDLC strategies and standards are up-to-date

  • Accountable for planning and executing application lifecycle management

What you bring

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field

  • 8-10 years of experience working in a software development and/or application / systems integration environment

  • 5+ years of experience in application management, including application lifecycle management, development, and/or project management

  • Strong understanding of modern SDLC patterns, practices

  • Understanding of SAFe methodology and experience working in SAFe ideally on cross-functional deliveries

  • Agile and innovative individuals, who can manage in an environment of change and ambiguity to help us take bold and strategic moves in this rapidly evolving retail environment

  • Established experience in effective vendor management

  • Creative thinkers who take initiative and are capable of building, launching, and managing products/programs that drive results for our customers

  • Problem solvers with the ability to analyze and prioritize to meet business objectives

  • Outcome focused, critical thinkers with the ability to analyze and visualize, to ensure continuous improvement across our entire business

  • Collaborative team players with superior influencing skills, who build relationships easily across various stakeholder groups to move initiatives forward

  • Inclusive leaders who build and develop teams that effectively anticipate and respond to disruption, while consistently delivering strong performance

  • Demonstrated delivery of complex enterprise programs greater than $10M

  • Sound knowledge of technical architecture, virtualized, Cloud-native, and SaaS implementation

  • Exceptional leadership skills demonstrated in complex, dynamic organizations

  • Experience with application development trends, methodologies (agile, product/platform teams) as well as continuous delivery

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate both technical and business concepts, as well as strong presentation skills
