What you'll be doing

You’ll be joining CIBC’s RBSS Team. You’ll be at the heart of CIBC’s digital transformation, successfully delivering complex, enterprise-scale projects involving multiple back-end systems. You will be joining ECIS Team which needs extensive experience with Java Development ideally working in banking background. This role will be supporting project delivery for multiple applications.

You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1 day per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How you'll succeed

  • Design and development - Perform and coordinate complicated application programming activities. Design the application's technical infrastructure using specific databases, programming languages, utilities, and testing approaches. Lead the design and development of cost-effective and innovative solutions.

  • Strategic planning - Develop multi-year technology roadmaps that align with the bank’s vision, strategy, and business goals. Lead multiple complicated projects involving backend systems, new technology, and the enhancement of existing applications.

  • Leadership skills - Act as the mobile development team lead and run code-review sessions with the wider team to ensure the project is on track to meet goals. Support and mentor intermediate and senior developers by sharing knowledge, collaborating and problem solving.

Who you are

You can demonstrate 5-7 years of experience in:

Must Haves:

  • Critical & Logical Thinking.

  • Java 1.8 and above.

  • RDBMS, SQL, Oracle

  • OpenShift, Docker, CaaS

  • Application Design

  • System Design including integration architectures

  • J2EE, Spring, SpringBoot

  • Building Web Services (REST & SOAP)

  • Git & Github

  • Experience supporting and/or implementing complex integration projects

Nice to Have:

  • Jboss

  • CI/CD

  • Shell Scripting

You have a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Business, and/or a related field.
