Summary

The focus of the Accounting Clerk is to obtain financial data for use in maintaining accounting records and compiles payroll records.

This position will support the Accounting team. It is eligible to work a hybrid schedule, generally requiring work in-office 2-3 days per week. This position is based out of Toronto.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Compiles payroll data taken from time sheets and other records, inputs daily payroll and edits timecards in ADP

  • Handles accounts receivable and payable duties by verifying and posting details of business transactions

  • Processes expense reports/cheque requests

  • Prepares all revenue and payable accruals

  • Prepares final accounting paperwork necessary for the month end close

  • Assists employees with questions and researches payroll inquiries

  • Meets corporate and branch deadlines

  • Maintains a clean and organized work environment for the department

  • Monthly reconciliation of various balance sheet accounts

  • Other duties as assigned by the Controller

Education & Experience

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance and/or business administration from an accredited institution is preferred

  • Minimum two (2) years of progressive work experience

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate accounting and financial information to others

  • Proficient in Word, Excel, SAP and ADP
