Purpose

Perform onboarding and periodic refresh of Scotiabank Third Party Correspondent Banking clients

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Lead and mentor a KYC AML team of 3-5 people.

  • Facilitate regulatory onboarding and refresh of Third-Party Correspondent Bank relationships globally.

  • Conduct KYC due diligence and risk assessment.

  • Complete Account Activity Reviews

  • Interact with bankers and relationship managers to gather required information.

  • Follow up with internal partners for timely actions.

  • Update systems and databases with client information/documentation.

  • Handle inquiries and ad hoc requests from internal clients, including Compliance.

  • Produce high-quality, error-free work independently and manage volume spikes.

  • Prioritize work, including ad-hoc requests and projects, to meet business demands.

  • Respond to changes in regulations, new business, and technology projects.

  • Assist managers in providing regular status updates to management.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related discipline.

  • Understanding of correspondent banking, SWIFT, payments, Trade Finance, and capital markets.

  • Experience with conducting account activity reviews forof Third-Party Correspondent Bank relationships

  • Broad knowledge of end-to-end workflows among Front, Middle, and Back Offices.

  • Experience with regulatory frameworks (KYC/AML, FATCA, G20 OTC derivative reform).

  • Familiarity with applications like World Check, Fenergo.

  • Adequate AML/CFT/Sanctions knowledge to mitigate risks and meet regulatory obligations.

  • Compliance knowledge in Financial Services, including AML/CFT certification (e.g., ACAMS).

  • Spanish speaking (preferred but not mandatory).

Work Arrangement: This position is currently a Hybrid role. Please note that this is subject to change based on the needs of the business.
