Emerson CNC Operator Lead in Topeka, Kansas

Description

The CNC Programmer is responsible for working from blueprints to create, maintain, and troubleshoot machining programs for the CNC machining center. This role must be familiar with standard machining concepts, practices, and procedures and expertise in machining knowledge, shop trigonometry skills, and reading blueprints.

As a CNC Programmer, YOU WILL:

  • Create CNC Programs for CNC Machines using various CAD/CAM software, including SolidWorks and EspritCAM

  • Respond to machine operators’ comments and suggestions

  • Initiate tooling and planning change requests

  • Identify process improvements through the use of lean manufacturing principles

  • Attend production meetings.

  • Attend company sponsored training activities.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCES & SKILLS:

  • Associates Degree or equivalent experience

  • 2 Years CNC Machine Programming experience

  • Knowledge and understanding of Multi-axis machining technique

  • Significant understanding of CNC Machining skills (G-code, M-code, Custom B Macro Programming, Fanuc Controls, tooling knowledge, ability to read blueprints)

  • Experience using CAM software, SolidWorks, and CAD

  • Excellent communication skills

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCES & SKILLS

  • Industrial Technical Degree preferred

  • 5+ Years CNC Machine Programming experience

Team Leads have at least 6 months seniority and are certified to operate/produce most cells/products within an area and will cover work in any area where others in the department are absent. They also help ensure the flow of material to the cell and are a go-to person to answer any questions other production team members may have regarding the work in that area.

About our Location

The new state-of-the-art facility, scheduled to open in 2021 in Ash Flat, will manufacture products for the Professional Tools portfolio that serves the professional mechanical, electrical and plumbing contractor. The facility will house over 200 employees, supporting a multitude of business functions, with opportunities for advancement.
