U.S. Army Joint Munitions Command Equipment Specialist in Tooele Army Depot, Utah

Summary About the Position: Leads three or more equipment specialists and engineering technicians by providing direction and coordination of specialized support to ammunition peculiar equipment and ammunition test items or systems. Responsible for installation of equipment and systems providing technical support and instructions. Responsibilities Represent the team in dealings with management for the purpose of obtaining resources and securing needed information. Attend test project planning meetings to assure that facilities, manpower, test maintenance techniques and requirements, are adequate to fulfill testing criteria. Review drawings, visit manufacturing site and attend and participate in various tests. Provide specialized technical support in the design, testing, production, operation and maintenance of developmental and fielded items. Support operations of major facilities to include maintenance buildings, deactivation furnace systems, autoclaves and testing facilities. Determine needed diagnostic operations and proper personnel requirements for assigned materiel and recommend appropriate courses of action. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing ammunition handling safety expertise input into the development of equipment and ordnance. Solving technical equipment problems on ammunition peculiar equipment (APE). Inspecting APE to assure readiness for shipment. Writing operator's manuals, technical reports and ammunition standard operating procedures for equipment or projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Oral Communication Program/Project Management Support Equipment Technical Data Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. This is a Career Program (CP) - 33 Ammunition Management position.
