Description The new Controller position open for Robert Half is for someone comfortable with having broad business engagement and impact. Those who can manage the process to ensure that models are correct and are fully accrued each month, verify and hold the operations team accountable to ensure end to end incentive processing, payments, accounting and related financial controls are operating effectively will thrive in this position. The Controller position is a short-term contract / contract engagement located in Toms River, New Jersey. Candidates who want to work in a very dynamic and high profile area with significant visibility at executive management level will be excited about this fantastic opportunity.

What you get to do every day

  • Review and monitor that controls are designed and operating effectively in partnership with compliance

Direct budgeting, reporting, and forecasting processes and tools for all accountable programs

  • Continuous reviewing of actual spend against budget, as well as directing actions needed for any expected shortfalls

  • Engage with various business partners for various program controllership and FP& A activities like maintaining accuracy of accrual models, appropriate accounting, and participating in true-up activities. Also answer queries from business, area and subsidiary controllers

  • Become knowledgeable in key financial results and movements across programs to summarize and discuss with key business partners

  • Ensure timely cash flow forecasts in collaboration with the Treasury

  • Acquire a thorough understanding of key financial results and movements across programs to summarize and discuss with key business partners

  • Organize evidence and qualitative discussion of monthly financial results across global programs in order to support SOX controls Requirements - Top notch analytical, organizational, and vendor management skills

  • Ability to manage, lead change and build process improvements

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with experience in establishing trusted advisor/consultant relationships and proven ability to influence Executives and Business Decision Makers

  • detail oriented accounting and controllership or public accounting and internal controls experience and/or Internal Audit or Controls and Compliance

  • Proven ability to provide leadership across finance team by engaging with different groups around the world via virtual communication

  • ERP system knowledge required

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or other relevant field

    • CPA and/or CMA preferred
  • Exemplary knowledge in office and accounting computer systems

  • General familiarity with statistics

  • Technical accounting experience highly valued

  • Hands-on experience with all candidates required to undergo drug screening

  • Practical knowledge of Tableau

  • Deep understanding of EO/IR systems

  • Supervising experience preferred

  • Decision-Making experience highly preferred

  • Good understanding of dynamics

  • Adeptness in Financial Statement

  • Earlier work involving CPA

  • Comprehension of Develop Solutions

  • Knowledge of Accounting Functions

  • Proficiency in About Time

  • Prior experience with Profitability Analysis

  • Perform Ad Hoc Financial experience highly desired

  • Demonstrated knowledge of variance analysis

  • Background working with Laptop Hardware

  • Private Sector experience preferred

  • Previous experience working with MBA

  • Private Accounting experience desired

  • Experience with Prescreening

  • Budget Processes experience

  • Finance experience preferred
