JOB SUMMARY

Toledo Ice Cream has an immediate job opening for a General Laboratory Worker who will:

  • Provide basic support within the laboratory

  • Assist lab technicians in sample setup/sorting, preparation, and clean-up

  • Assist lab technicians with actual testing activities

  • Perform laboratory result data entry

  • Work under close supervision and follow all established procedures

SCHEDULE: Weekly – Monday – Friday; 9am-5pm

PAY RATE: $20.00 per hour

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist lab technicians in sample setup/sorting, preparation, and clean-up

  • Assist with testing raw, intermediate, and finished products as well as with collecting and testing environmental samples according to established procedures

  • Complete data entry into the computer system(s); maintain lab records as directed

  • Wash lab utensils and glassware; assist with other clean-up activities

  • Assist with calibrating and maintaining laboratory instrumentation as directed

  • Provide general laboratory assistance as needed

  • Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues

  • Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • General lab experience preferred

  • Certification and/or License – may be required during course of employment

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Able to use Microsoft Office Suite and company computer systems

  • Able to follow directions

  • Able to work with accuracy and attention to detail

  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
