_About the Division_

Tokyo Collateral Operations is the operations department with responsibility to manage collateral for OTC transactions for Morgan Stanley's clients. The key functions of the team include end-to-end processing and control of margin calls, exposure monitoring for OTC trades, dispute management and regulatory reporting.The team is closely engaged in global project driven by business initiative or regulatory change, as well as self-initiated projects of automation as well as control enhancement.

About the role As an operations manager, you will manage and supervise the team managing following functions and work closely with other team members, reporting to the local divisional head.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervision and authorization of day-to-day functions of the team who processes margin call on back of ISDA-CSA, investigation and resolution of margin call amount dispute with counterparties and act as escalation point of client services
  • Collaborate with the business in Japan to enable new businesses and start business with new clients
  • Engage in global and local projects to enable market and regulatory changes, and to improve process efficiency
  • Ensure Morgan Stanley's compliance with the local and global regulations such as non-cleared derivatives margining, through preparation of regulatory reporting as well as on-going monitoring

  • Below experience and knowledge would be an advantage: -Experience in the investment banking operation -Understanding of the regulations including Japan Financial Instruments and Exchange Act (FIEL) and Global Regulations such as global Non-Cleared Derivatives Margining
  • Bachelor-s Degree
  • 7 years of relevant working experience
  • Good understanding of financial products, including equity/fixed income OTC derivative, FX products and basic knowledge of ISDA/CSA is a bonus.
  • High level of integrity and able to work under pressure
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills, being able to communicate clearly and concisely, moderating style and delivery to suit different parties
  • Candidate should be able to organize themselves efficiently, keep track of multiple outstanding items and meet tight deadlines
  • Demonstration in their past work experience of robust analytical skills, high attention to detail and process improvement
  • Candidate should be a self-starter with the ability to work either on their own initiative as well as be a solid team player
  • Language: Advanced Japanese speaking/reading/writing and business level English are required.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and organizational skills in both Japanese and English.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Keenness and curiosity to learn new skill sets and challenge new things.
  • Good team player who can contribute towards building strong team spirit
  • Microsoft Office Suite
