The Team:

The JP Customer Growth and Engagement team works to help customers discover the best of Amazon and Prime using data and insights to invent, test, and scale programs that drive customer engagement and Prime growth. We invent to help new-to-Amazon customers enjoy a seamless onboarding, product discovery and shopping experience, and create an end-to-end flywheel of customer engagement whether they're on Amazon.co.jp, exposed to marketing off-site, or engaging with one of our key partners.

The Role:

We are seeking an innovative, data-driven, result-oriented Marketing Lead to pioneer and scale a high impact, strategic project which will help drive the next phase of Amazon's growth in Japan. You will contribute to our Go To Market strategy and take the lead on operationalizing key x-team initiatives to meet program goals. These span spaces you own and drive directly (e.g. owned & operated) as well as areas where you will partner with other teams with accountability to deliver (e.g. Econ, Partner Marketing, PM-T, Biz Dev).

The right candidate has successful experience in results-driven marketing, an unbridled passion for technology, and an entrepreneurial spirit with data driven approach to customer insights, strong product marketing vision, and x-team stakeholder management skills. They have experience working in a consumer tech/product roles owning cross-functional marketing in a fast moving and in a fast moving and ambiguous environment.

Given the initiative is still in an early phase, it will also be important come up with and test new ideas, dive deep into the data to double down on what’s performing, and create scalable programs and mechanism to grow effectively. You'll need to act both strategically and tactically - from the creation of plans, to the execution, and analysis of business impact.

Key job responsibilities

• Act as a key contributor to our Go to Market growth plan.

• Use customer insights and internal data and think beyond your direct workstream, develop hypothesis that guide innovation, and drive x-functional plans to drive new vertical growth.

• Take strategic and operational ownership of key x-team initiatives to deliver a cohesive, bar raising customer experience across O&O marketing channels, partner channels, and PM-T tech roadmap.

• Take leadership responsibility for efficient strategic planning and operationalizing mechanisms to automate manual process.

• Drive growth by leading the Diamond Roadmap and launching performance marketing driven programs informed by customer insights and our GTM strategy.

• Own growth KPIs; develop metrics and measurements to determine campaign effectiveness, including partnering with technical teams to implement performance measurement, attribution and channel optimization as inputs to business goals.

• Partner with a cross-disciplinary team of Product Managers, BD/Account Managers, Finance/Data Science

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements

  • Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)

  • Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs

  • Experience leading go-to-market for consumer software or hardware product launches

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using any of SQL or other analytical tools for conducting data analysis

  • Experience with customer segmentation, profiling, and targeting
