Amazon Senior Product Manager, AMZL Planning SME in Tokyo, Japan
Description
The Technical Subject Matter Expert (Tech SME) team is looking to hire a JP AMZL Planning SME, Amazon Last Mile.
The JP AMZL Planning SME, will act as a catalyst for change by driving innovation in capacity planning, and prioritizing technology initiatives. The JP AMZL Planning SME strives to be experts in Amazon’s capacity planning systems. The individuals are accountable to deliver world class solutions through optimizing and reinventing the existing technology. The Tech SMEs are functional experts on the software tools in a given process areas and their application in the AMZL network. This position looks for ways to automate human decision making by influencing technology to build and update tools that reduce process complexity to deliver robust planning processes.
Key job responsibilities
Support process improvements, best practice sharing, and standardization across all Amazon Last Mile capacity planning processes using Lean principles
Measure and establish standard rates for standard work to be used for labor and capacity planning
Provide metrics inputs that support compliance of standard work and that drives improvements in cost and quality
Collaborate with counterparts in AMZL Planning, Research Science, as well as the Operations Engineering team and Delivery Station (DS) Launch SME team to drive standardization of core process elements to support network growth and scale
Develop target condition for pain points within the delivery network capacity planning along with financial impact
Partner with tech organization on the business requirement documents (BRD)
Highlight areas of business risk and impact for Technology Team resource allocation and provide input on software design to support lean processes and standard work
Prioritize software enhancements and feature requests submitted by the sites and serve as the interface with the delivery stations to drive adoption of changes
*Travel expectations will be approximately 10% to Japan Delivery Nodes

The Tech SMEs work across technology and operations teams on the prioritization, development, optimization, and sustainment of the technology and related process in order to positively impact customer experience while supporting business growth.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
5+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
Experience with end to end product delivery
Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
Experience as a product manager or owner
Experience owning technology products
Business level of English
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in influencing senior leadership through data driven insights
Experience working across functional teams and senior stakeholders
Excited about working in a diverse group and contributing to an inclusive culture
