Fortive Corporation Operations & Logistics Manager in Tokyo, Japan

Job Overview

Recognized as a global leader in the supply of electronic testing and measurement equipment, Fluke Japan (Fortive Group) is in search of an Operations & Logistics Manager with a strong customer service orientation to become a valuable member of our team. In the capacity of Operations & Logistics Manager at Fluke Japan, you will be tasked with overseeing the customer service/technical and warehouse departments. The successful candidate will report directly into the G&A Mgr/Financial Controller. This Role is global in nature and entails collaboration with cross-functional and regional teams in the APAC and Global regions.

Primary Responsibilties / Duties

  • Oversee the delivery of operational services.

  • Manage customer relations, overseeing inbound calls and email queries related to general Customer Service inquiries, including product information, pricing, availability, and lead times.

  • Handle order management, encompassing warranty-related orders, customer Request for Quotes (RFQs), etc.

  • Take charge of updating the Discount Matrix.

  • Serve as a key information source regarding the status of factory and customer backlogs, product returns, replacements, and inbound/outbound shipment delivery schedules.

  • Collaborate, communicate, and coordinate with various teams, including Fluke Japan/Fluke International Order administration, Service, factory planners, Inventory & Costing, Oracle, warehouse, and Finance teams on a daily/regular basis. This collaboration ensures a seamless supply of products and services to meet demand, On-Time Delivery (OTD), and stocking level requirements.

  • Take charge of generating Internal Requisitions and Purchase Orders, establishing Min/Max Levels, overseeing demos, parts, and marketing promotional items based on Demand, Funnel, Marketing initiatives, and Stock Level requirements.

  • Manage backlogs to ensure appropriate supply and inventory levels are maintained.

  • Responsible for developing efficiency and cost reduction strategies.

  • Provide weekly and/or monthly management reports on Operations & Logistics.

  • Maximize on-time deliveries and ensure a proactive resolution of delivery issues.

  • Coaching & mentoring the customer service and operation teams.

  • Undertake any other ad hoc tasks as directed by the supervisor.

  • At least 10 years’ experience in Operations, Sales Support, Customer Service, Order Management, Supply Chain, and/or Logistics.

  • Degree qualification in Business, Supply Chain, or Operations.

  • Demonstrated experience in maintaining cost effective strategies.

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Strong knowledge of OH&S principles and legal responsibilities

  • Proven ability to use spreadsheets, word processing, presentation, database and management systems including Oracle.

  • Experience in ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP desired.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with distribution partners, customers, suppliers, etc.
