Grand Valley Manufacturing Co. Summer Engineering Internship - Titusville, PA in Titusville, Pennsylvania

The Engineering Intern will gain exposure to internal operations at Grand Valley Manufacturing through hands on experience in manufacturing, engineering, and other areas of the company. This will be a full-time position during the summer months.  

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Create, modify, and develop models for manufacturing tooling using SolidWorks. 
  • Contribute to various engineering projects, working with team members to problem solve. 
  • Organize, maintain, and update engineering documentation as needed. 
  • Shadow experienced engineers, gaining exposure to different aspects of manufacturing engineering. 
  • Provide weekly progress reports to Engineering Supervisor, VP of Operations, and HR.  
  • Present findings and lessons learned to supervisor and upper management at the end of the internship.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in and a minimum of 2 years completed towards BS or BA in Engineering, preferably Manufacturing or Mechanical. 

Preferred Skills

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis effectively. 
  • Self-starter, able to work independently and within a team. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with an emphasis in Excel.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit for long periods of time working on/at a computer; stand or walk for periods of time, in a manufacturing environment; lift and/or move up to 10 lbs.; or infrequently lift/move up to 25 lbs. 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will occasionally enter manufacturing areas where they are exposed to moving mechanical parts, moderate to loud areas, and airborne particles.   The employee will be required to wear eye, foot, and/or other personal protective equipment when in manufacturing areas.
