Universal Health Services Per Diem - Driver in TITUSVILLE, Florida

Responsibilities

The Driver/transporter is responsible for transporting patients to and from the facility, assures vehicles are in proper working order and clean, provides high quality non-mdeical patient care and ambulatory transportation while providing exceptional customer service. The Driver/Transportator is responsible for assuring that safety remains the highest priority throughout the transportation continumn. Customers served are Children (ages 5-12); Adolescents (ages 13-17); Adults (ages 18+) - Including patients, families, direct care providers, regulatory/licensing agencies, referral sources & the community.

Provides transportation for patients to and from the hospital. Coordinates patient pick-up and drop-off routes. Completes daily milage log. Ensures all safety measures are adhered to in the vehicle. Maintains vehicle and equipment in a clean, organized and ready condition after each transport. Ensures proper fuel, fluid and tire pressure levels at all times. Reports equipment damage or malfunctions to the Director of Plant Operations. Assists with duties and assignments in the Maintenance Department as requested and assigned.

Follows universal precautions when working with and/or cleaning up from patients. Follows dress code policy including but not limited to: proper footwear, uniform, piercings, hair pulled back. Completes mandatory training and competencies, including Healthstream, by assigned completion date. Follows time and attendance requirements as outlined in the policies including punching in and out as required, minimal call outs and tardies. Adheres to all applicable Federal and State laws, regulations and requirements as well as Facility policies, requirements and internal controls. Follows and abides by Company policies, procedures, and Corporate Compliance Program, as applicable to role and responsibilities. Exhibits flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the patients and the department. Utilizes effective communication skills in reporting pertinent information in a timely manner. All documentation & reporting is clear, concise and timely. Utilizes appropriate terminology in documentation. Contribute to performance improvement and quality improvement initiatives. Identify need for professional growth and seek appropriate professional development opportunities. Completes other duties as assigned.

Stand, sit or walk for periods up to 4 hours. Hear spoken word in a normal vocal range, respond to signals, alarms, codes and other displays. Recognize vocal intonation that signal changes in acuity. Bend, reach, stoop. Write legibily so as to accurately convey information. Read instructions and complete reports.

Perform activities requiring manual dexterity. Lift up to 30 lbs.

Job Hazards: Internal/external disasters in which appropriate policies, procedures & plans must be followed to protect patients, staff and/or self, regular exposure to hazardous/toxic chemicals and/or cleaning agents listed in the SDS sheets, and regular exposure to patients - milieu may be unpredictable and subject to loud volume, excessive activity up to and including violence from patient aggression.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.

Valid Driver's License required.

Satisfactory driving record per UHS Policy INS.1.05 (Corporate Fleet Safety Policy)

Prior experience in a healthcare setting (preferred but not required).
