Resideo HSE Engineer II in TIJUANA, Mexico

Be part of a team who develops, implements, and maintains Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) programs, within the context of applicable legislation and regulations, as well as ISO 45001/14001 management systems and corporate standards.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Coordinates regulatory studies and leads the safety and hygiene committee to evaluate and improve industrial safety standards.

  • Supports the Senior HSE Engineer with BUM activities and ensures compliance with safety, hygiene, and environmental regulations.

  • Implements and oversees industrial safety programs to prevent hazardous or unhealthy working conditions, and monitors emergency response systems.

  • Assists in maintaining and updating the company’s contingency plan, collaborating with authorities to establish emergency procedures.

  • Evaluates, recommends, and procures safety, personal protection, and environmental control equipment, ensuring all emergency response equipment is in working order.

  • Communicates internal policies, procedures, and government regulations, and ensures compliance with HSE standards across departments.

  • Investigates workplace accidents, identifies root causes, and recommends corrective actions to improve safety.

  • Develops and implements risk assessments, safety training, and improvement plans based on incident reports and metrics.

  • Participates in cross-functional meetings to address organizational changes, ensuring safe equipment use and handling.

  • Reviews construction or facility expansion projects to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards.

  • Manages and tracks non-routine work permits, ensures proper evaluation of activities, and monitors environmental aspects and impacts.

  • Leads the company’s certification process for Health, Safety, and Environmental standards and ensures continuous improvement.

  • Develops and maintains up-to-date departmental procedures, formats, and the annual HSE training plan.

  • Oversees the chemical management program to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

MUST HAVE:

  • Advanced written and spoken English.

  • 3+ years of experience as an HSE Engineer in the manufacturing industry.

  • Knowledge of Civil Protection emergency response systems.

  • Experience working with ISO14001/45001 management systems.

  • Familiarity of government policies and regulations, including the application of federal labor law and the regulations of the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare (STPS).

WE VALUE:

  • Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification.

  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams.

  • Root cause analysis methodologies, including 5 Whys and Ishikawa.

  • Any training in Health, Safety, and Environmental topics.
