Perform set-ups and machining operations | | on machines capable of milling, grinding, turning, and boring or | | similar equipment. Provide quality assurances of meeting company | | specifications. Other duties as may be assigned.   | | | | | | | | | | | |   | | | | | | | | | | | | MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS | | | | | | | | - Ability to download, edit, run, and save new programs on various | | machine controls to meet engineering drawing dimensions, | | tolerances, and specifications | | - Machine parts to specifications using boring mills, grinders, | | lathes and or similar equipment | | - Measure and examine completed parts for defects and ensure | | conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such | | as micrometers and calipers | | - Set up, adjust, and operate all tools and many specialized or | | custom tools to perform precision machining operations | | - Study sample parts, drawings, and engineering information to | | determine methods and sequences of operations needed to | | manufacture products, and determine product dimensions and | | tolerances | | - Understanding of machining low carbon, alloy, tool steels and | | other materials | | - Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used | | in preparation of machinery work and setup | | - Confer with engineering, supervisory, and manufacturing personnel | | to exchange technical information | | - Ability to work in a team environment to achieve the best results | | and share best practices and information throughout the | | department and organization | | | | | | | | WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS | | | | | | | | - Shop environment | | - Steel-toed safety shoes and safety glasses required | | - Must be able to regularly lift loads of up to 50 pounds | | - Work can be strenuous, and includes walking, climbing, kneeling, | | crawling, squatting, and pulling (such as on torque wrenches) as | | well as standing for long periods of time | | | | | | | |   | | | | | | | | | | | |   | | | |
