UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry invites applicants for a full-time, non-tenure track 1.0 FTE faculty position in the Department of General Practice and Dental Public Health, at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.

Position Key Accountabilities:

  • Providing lectures, pre-clinical and didactic courses, supervising and teaching pre-doctoral students in clinic.

  • Mentoring students in treatment planning and restorative dentistry that includes preventative care, operative dentistry, and removable and fixed prosthodontics.

  • Meeting patients’ Oral Health needs by carrying out comprehensive dental care.

  • Serving as a professional role model for students.

  • Participating in departmental activities, conducting research, and providing service to the University such as serving on standing and ad-hoc dental school committees.

  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • DDS/DMD degree

  • License to practice dentistry in the State of Texas or practice under a Faculty License through the School of Dentistry.

  • Experience in private practice and/or community health in underserved populations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior teaching experience

  • Clinical practice experience

The ideal candidate will have experience working or interacting with patients, students, faculty, and staff and a commitment to excellence.

The position is available February 01, 2023. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience.
