Thermo Fisher Scientific Sr Finance Manager FP&A in Tewksbury, Massachusetts
This finance leader will have direct exposure to the IES leadership team. This role will be a leader in the finance transformation project which will change many aspects of the finance process. This position will also contribute to the development and execution of the annual operating plan (AOP), strategic planning cycle (STRAP), and play an integral part in aligning the team goals with the global business unit leadership expectations. This role is also responsible to provide strong business partnership support.
Key responsibilities include:
Lead the effort to redesign monthly financial cadence. Including all monthly, quarterly, and annual financial processes to include month-end close, reporting, planning / forecasting, and analytics
Develop and utilize proactive, early indicator reporting metrics to communicate financial risk or opportunities to senior management
Provide financial oversight and leadership for the business, sharing insights through monthly/quarterly reporting at leadership staff meetings
Drive the redesign of MBR, QBR, AOP, and STRAP by the accountable team members via robust business partner support
Business partner to Global G&A leadership:
Provide financial metrics and analyses to facilitate sound business decisions
Partner with IT to drive standardized and automated reporting, adhering to requirements and driving better visibility across IT function
Collaborate with HR to support headcount approval process and headcount reporting accuracy
Partner with key stakeholders to solicit feedback to develop and implement step level improvements
Planning & Forecasting:
Manage change in analytics, reporting, and financial recommendations associated with global functional support
Manage FX and PII analysis / reporting
Drive improvement of finance systems and BI capabilities to provide enhanced insights, predictability, and headcount reporting (ex. scaling Hyperion Planning usage)
Improve efficiency and accuracy in monthly forecasting processes
Build out PPI business system capabilities in finance to connect productivity results to the P&L.
Special projects and ad hoc as needed
Bachelor's degree and/or MBA in Accounting or Finance.
Prior experience in an FP&A Management role.
Excellent problem solving skills with attention to detail; ability to step back and analyze the overall business impact.
Willingness to dig into details and analyze variances and trends.
Excellent financial modeling skills.
The successful candidate also has very good overall business skills; he/she does not limit the scope of responsibilities to FP&A, but helps to develop solutions to broad business issues.
Experience in a global manufacturing organization is desired, as is experience in adoption of financial systems.
Strong knowledge of Excel, Power BI, Powerpoint, and Hyperion Financial Management (HFM).
Superior quantitative and analytical capabilities with Advanced Excel and Powerpoint skills; Strong financial systems capabilities (HFM, CMR, SAP).
Must be able to work well under pressure, handling multiple tasks in a complex environment with strong written, oral communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills, able to manage priorities and workflow.
Ability to travel 10% of time
