Job Description:

Tewksbury Transitional Support Services (TSS) is a program dedicated to helping men and women by providing short-term residential support services to individuals in early recovery from drug and/or alcohol addiction. Clients are provided with the tools they need to begin developing skills of daily living including goal setting, problem solving, and self-advocacy. Services include nursing support, individual case management, group treatment sessions, aftercare planning, and more. The Admissions Coordinator provides administrative and clerical support services to management and clinical staff of our shelter and transition program for men.

The Admissions Coordinator's Responsibilities are:

  1. Offers information, referral and crisis intervention services to persons telephoning or visiting the site.

  2. Determines client eligibility for program services and, if appropriate sets up intake appointments for new clients, including all associated paperwork.

  3. Provides referral information to individuals who do not meet program admission requirements.

  4. Conducts intake interviews as directed.

  5. Responsible for all intake documentation, including MIS forms, and client orientation to Rights, Responsibilities, Confidentiality Regulations, Program Rules.

  6. Completes client enrollment in entitlement programs as appropriate.

  7. Maintains data base and program log as directed. Reports census/volume figures to Program Management.

  8. Performs recruitment/outreach functions as dictated by program census.

  9. Attends weekly administrative staff meetings and support staff meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Also must possess basic computer skills in word processing and data base management.

  • Must demonstrate ability to relate to a substance abuse treatment population in a sensitive manner, an interest and willingness to work in a multicultural setting and must share a customer service orientation. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics. Manages difficult or emotional client situations; Responds promptly to client needs and maintains confidentiality.

Full time 40 hours (Paid on call rotation required) for this Leadership position
