Job Summary and Qualifications
This position is designed to provide employee health services to the employees of Terre Haute Regional Hospital. The employee health nurse is responsible for maintaining employee health files in a manner consistent with current recommendations from Joint Commission, ISDH, OSHA and CDC. This position also is responsible for the overall administration of the workers compensation function for the hospital. · You will answer phones, screen and triage calls, schedule appointments, maintain files for correspondence and attend appointments for worker’s compensation patients.
Assists the Human Resource team with the Pre-Employment process
Employee health pre-employment screenings (shot records, titers, immunizations, fit testing, drug screening, etc.)
Maintaining employee health files in accordance with THRH policy & governing body guidelines
Annual flu shot administration to employees
Employee health tracking in company database and other computer programs
Employee communicable disease tracking and communication with infection control
Resource for the infection control committee on all guidelines and standards that pertain to employee health
Collaborate with infection control and actively participate in the review/ or revision of all policies and plans which affect the scope of the employee health
Reporting of employee health activities to Infection Control Committee and other committees as needed
Conduct fit testing on employees as mandated by OSHA both upon hire & annually as applicable
Follow-up on employee exposures to blood borne pathogens and communicable disease
Manage the hospitals’ workers compensation program
Coordinate with the WC Physician/Occ Med for initial and follow up treatment
Chair the hospital safety committee & maintain the risk reduction program · Maintain the hospitals’ OSHA 300 log and non-recordable injury/accident report
Requirements
Current Indiana Registered Nursing License
BLS Certification must be maintained throughout employment with Terre Haute Regional Hospital
1-2 years' experience in Occupational or Employee Health Nursing
Familiarity with Indiana workers compensation regulation
Knowledge of immunizations and experience with administration
Ability to evaluate and process employee injuries to the appropriate party or facility (MRO, etc.)
