Looking to fill this position as Night Shift - 7p-7:30a.

PRN Level 2 - Requires working:

  • Minimum of 4, 12-hour shifts hours per pay period (every two weeks)

  • 2 Holidays per year (1 winter and 1 summer)

  • 2 weekend shifts per pay period as defined by the unit supervisor

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Critical Care Flex RN manages the nursing care of critically ill patients in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. Primary locations of ICU or ER and then secondary location of IMC, and then any other medical units if needed.

What will you do in this role:

  • Assesses plans and evaluates patient care needs.

  • Carries out physician orders.

  • Administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, and monitors vital signs.

  • Provides respiratory and ventilator management and monitoring for patients.

  • Serves as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well coordinated patient care.

  • Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.

  • Instructs and educates patients and families.

  • Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

  • Provides age and culturally appropriate care.

  • Orients and mentors new staff members.

What qualifications you will need:

  • ACLS, NIHSS Stroke and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) certifications required within 6months of hire

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required

  • Current Registered Nurse license by State of Indiana or active Compact State RN license

  • Graduate of accredited degree of professional nursing. Associate Degree required

  • Two years or more of Critical Care setting preferred
