Emerson Construction Company, Inc. Accountant in Temple, Texas

Emerson Construction is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed Accountant to join our growing team. The candidate will support and assist the CFO with the full construction accounting process.

Responsibilities

  • Accounts receivable

  • Process monthly subcontractor billings

  • General ledger reconciliation

  • Cash reconciliation

  • Job cost accounting

  • Assist with month end and year end close

  • Fixed asset reconciliation

  • Annual property tax rendition

  • Prepare 1099's for vendors

  • Assist in preparation for the annual audit

  • Monitor and analyze accounting data to produce financial reports or statements

  • Meet financial accounting objectives

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls

    Skills

  • Proven working experience in accounting

  • Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases

  • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data

  • Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • BS degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Ability to report to work on a daily basis

  • Construction experience
