Amazon Transportation Specialist in Tempe, Arizona
Description

If so, Amazon’s Network Engineering & Scheduling Technology (NEST) team is looking for an experienced Transportation Specialist with a strong record of achieving results, to own and drive accurate load scheduling for a quickly growing business segment. We are looking for a leader who is passionate about building new businesses, solving complex problems for our customers, and establishing end-to-end transportation scheduling processes. Amazon transportation encompasses all of the operations that deliver worldwide shipments to and from our fulfillment centers and third-party locations. The NEST team needs exceptionally talented, bright, and driven people to design, develop, and improve our transportation systems.
Key job responsibilities
Ability to pull data from numerous databases (using Excel, Access, SQL and/or other data management systems) and to perform ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed is a plus.
Develop and/or understand performance metrics to assist with driving business results.
Must be able to quickly understand the business impact of the trends and make decisions that make sense based on available data.
Must be able to systematically escalate problems or variance in the information and data to the relevant owners and teams and follow through on the resolutions to ensure they are delivered.
Work within various time constraints to meet critical business needs, while measuring and identifying activities performed.
Excellent communication, both verbal and written as one may be required to create a narrative outlining weekly findings and the variances to goals, and present these finding in a review forum.
Basic Qualifications
High school or equivalent diploma
Work 40 hours/week, and overtime as required
Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, and/or holidays
Intermediate proficiency in Excel, including the use of pivot tables & charts and vlookup
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain or related field
1+ years work experience in logistics/transportation industry
Experience using SQL, Tableau, and/or Python
Advanced proficiency in Excel, including the use of VBA, Macros, and merging datasets
Data management & data quality control experience with knowledge pulling and analyzing large sets of data
Experience in manufacturing, transportation, customer service, and/or distribution environments
Experience using data to understand root cause of issues and improve processes to prevent recurrence
Experience working independently in a fast-paced environment
Experience communicating professionally and effectively with cross-functional stakeholders
