Job Overview: The Foreman is responsible for directing and leading crews of hourly workers on a project. The Foreman reports to the General Foreman and/or Project Superintendent. We are hiring multiple positions for various projects; per diem and schedules are dependent on the project assignment. Travelers are welcome to apply.
Job Functions:
Assist in managing, implementing, and monitoring safety and environmental programs.
Lead tailgate meetings, conduct inspections, and perform preliminary accident/incident investigations.
Plan, organize, and assign work to manpower crews, ensuring conformance to quality and safety standards.
Manage the storage, security, and maintenance of specific tools and manuals.
Produce Supervisor Daily Work Plans and communicate goals to crews.
Provide input on cost-saving methods related to manpower, scheduling, and materials.
Manage, receive, and report materials used on site.
Monitor crew productivity, track man hours and materials for work performed.
Complete employee review forms for hourly trades crew members.
Supervise one or more project crews, providing guidance, training, and mentoring.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of industry experience.
At least 12 months working as a Foreman.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Compliance with all PCL policies, procedures, and safety rules.
Pass a pre-employment physical examination, DOT and/or Non-DOT drug/alcohol screen, and background check.
Skills
Ability to communicate and understand verbal and written instructions in English.
Ability to understand and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Basic math and measurement skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word).
Computer savvy.
Physical Requirements:
Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights as well as in confined spaces above- or below-ground level, such as: towers, scaffolding, vessels, excavations, etc.
Able to carry 50 lbs. of tools and/or materials without assistance.
Outdoor work in various weather conditions.
