MUFG Foreign Currency Operations Specialist in Tempe, Arizona

The selected colleague will work at an MUFG office or client sites four days per week and work remotely one day. A member of our recruitment team will provide more details.

Job Summary:

Within the FC Remittance Section, which is a very time sensitive and high-volume environment with rigid deadlines, the incumbent is responsible for exercising due care in the processing of payments and related payment instructions on behalf of MUFG customers and branches. In this capacity the incumbent is expected to effectively

Major Responsibilities:

  • Maintain familiarity with Swift Cross Border Foreign Currency Remittance, and FED payment formatting standards.

  • Understand and apply departmental procedures and payment practices.

  • Manage time and prioritize assigned duties.

  • Maintain knowledge of BESS, GPP, OVS and other systems used within the unit Ensure the proper completion of all payments.

  • Understand and apply due diligence relating to compliance and regulatory related matters.

Transaction Processing :

  • Perform BESS, OVS and GPP data entry transcribing required customer payment information in the corresponding system fields.

  • This includes mainly Foreign currency and some USD payments and SWIFT MT messages.

  • Preparation of BNF Bank Charges.

Lifting Charges/BNF Bank Charges:

  • Process lifting charges and bank to bank charges received from Reconciliation Group including conversion of USD in RET system. Monitor and ensure the charges claimed are processed in time accordingly.

  • Month end reconciliation of EUR lifting charges with MUFG bank London statement that pertain to our transactions.

Proof and Reconciliation:

  • Perform the end of day reconciliation ensuring that documents are properly segregated Ensure that End of Day queue is empty.

  • Identified discrepancies are resolved according to Department Policies. Complete and return End of Day confirmations

Additional Information:

  • 1-3 years of Money Transfer experience.

  • Good oral and written communications.

  • PC Proficient

  • Good at multi-tasking

  • High School graduate

The typical base range for this role is between $22 per hour – $26 per hour depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
