We are looking for an Entry-Level Civil or Environmental Engineer to work on a variety of solid waste projects. This position involves design support for landfills and landfill gas systems, permitting, construction plans, and construction oversight. Field days can be long, offering great learning opportunities. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement when field presence is not required.
Responsibilities
Assist other staff in overseeing drilling activities involving probe and well installation, borehole logging, well development, well construction, monitoring, and sampling.
Conduct and document construction quality assurance observations and similar construction inspections for compliance with design plans and specifications.
Perform quality control reviews on work products before submission to the Project or Task Manager.
Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and clients under the guidance of the Project or Task Manager.
Compile data and assist in preparing portions of reports, progressing toward the ability to prepare complete reports such as environmental site assessments, emissions monitoring, groundwater/soil investigation, compliance, and other project reporting.
Prepare permit applications and regulatory agency submittals and responses with supporting documentation, including research of regulatory requirements.
Compile data and prepare basic calculations for reports and to support design documents or other studies.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
At least 3+ months of civil engineering or internship experience
Proficiency in AutoCAD (5/10)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word (7/10)
Technical report writing skills (5/10)
Basic understanding of wastewater distribution
Experience with landfill projects
Experience with Civil 3D
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Looking to obtain E.I.T. certification in the near future
Experience in Civil 3D
Landfill experience
Wastewater experience
Work Environment
This is a hybrid position requiring in-office presence at least once a week. The team includes about 10 engineers based in Phoenix. The role involves a 50/50 split between office work and fieldwork. The candidate must be able to lift 50 pounds and walk through rough terrain weekly. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $32.69/hr.
