At GAM, we provide our customers with a range of services including Regulatory and Customer Compliance of Property Systems, Import/Export Trade Compliance, Material Management, Stockrooms/Tool Cribs/Receiving, Engineering Tool Design and Rework/Repairs, Records Management, Distribution Services, Capital Asset Management, Development & Production-Equipment Maintenance, and Facilities Project Management​.

Job Summary

As a Buildings and Grounds Maintenance Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and organized operation of our facilities. This position involves managing the organization, cleanliness, and safety of the premises, utilizing the principles of 5S methodology. You will be responsible for moving equipment, and operating forklifts.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Buildings and Grounds Maintenance Specialist will:

Organization and 5S Implementation:

  • Implement and maintain the 5S methodology (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) to enhance organization, cleanliness, and efficiency within the facilities.

  • Regularly assess and rearrange workspaces to optimize workflow and eliminate waste.

  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure compliance with 5S standards throughout the facility.

Equipment Movement and Operation:

  • Safely operate forklifts and other equipment to move materials and equipment within the premises.

  • Collaborate with team members to facilitate the smooth transfer of goods, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to designated areas.

  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning.

Facility Maintenance:

  • Conduct regular inspections of the buildings and grounds, identifying and addressing any maintenance or safety issues.

  • Assist in repairs and maintenance tasks as needed.

  • Ensure that all areas of the facility meet safety and compliance standards.

  • Be comfortable working in various weather conditions and environments.

Inventory Management:

  • Collaborate with relevant departments to manage and organize inventory, ensuring accurate tracking and timely replenishment of supplies.

  • Maintain records of equipment movements, ensuring accurate documentation for inventory control purposes.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Able to obtain a Forklift certification.

  • Ability to lift heavy objects (individual and team lifts) and perform physically demanding tasks.

  • Must be a US Citizen

Preferred Skills

  • Forklift experience.

  • Proven experience in facilities maintenance, organization, and equipment operation.
